Welcome - and things to look out for

Welcome to this first module of Ideas for Leader's program 'Brain and Behaviour in Organisations' led by Prof Paul Brown, Chairman and Executive Director of ION Consulting International.

Course Content Format

Modules

The program is made-up of 8 modules. These are listed below this section.

Videos

Each Module contains three, approximately 5-minute long, videos. Watch them at your own pace, and perhaps listen to them more than once - there are lots of new ideas and concepts that Paul presents and that your brain will absorb and digest better for a second or even third viewing.

Transcript

We also provide a full transcript with each video - you can log into your program account on a second device so that you can scroll through the transcript alongside the video, if that helps. Or you can just use the transcript to review the content after watching the video.

Quizzes

After the third video in each Module there will be a handful of simple quiz questions, mostly requiring just True/False answers. The purpose of these questions is to allow you to quickly reconsider some of the key issues and so help embed the concepts you have just heard Paul present. The quizzes are graded and you need to get over 50% to progress to the next Module. Your scores are not revealed anywhere except to you; but you do have to pass to progress through to the next stage. Right and wrong answers are displayed as you go along, and then all answers for each quiz are accumulated in the following Modules, so you have a record of how you did - and remind yourself of the previous Module's content, as a further help in embedding the learning.

Reflective Questions

Also at the end of the Module (after the third video), we ask a couple of reflective questions which you are encouraged to note down some answers to in the text box. This section is not assessed, but by thinking about the question and making yourself write down your thinking you will clarify how these concepts can benefit you and your organisation, and your brain is much more likely to remember them later - so it is really beneficial to take a few minutes to do this, if you want to get the most out of the course.

Course Completion Certificate

To receive the course completion certificate it is necessary to watch all the videos and pass all the quizzes in all the Modules.
